The Supplicant is chased, harmed or otherwise threatened by the Persecutor and begs for help from the Power in Authority. Any situation where a person pleads or makes a request falls under this head; a man begs a woman answering his affection by a serenade; lawyer pleads for his crime accused client; a defeated army begs the victors for mercy; someone does a good word for another, etc.

• The supplication of a refugee for help against enemies.
• The application of a refugee to a shelter.
• The request for asylum by drowning, got lost and stranded.
• The petition for charity from someone who humiliated his people and was rejected by them.
• Forgiveness, healing or deliverance sought.
• The plea for a relic or a corpse.
• The request from one power to the other in the name of the supplicant.
• A request to a family member in favour of another.
